Christmas Lake Residence Renovation and Addition
This project is a renovation and addition to a lake home originally designed by Edwin Lundie in 1942. The home had been renovated and added on to in the past. At the request of the clients, we began by removing the additions and were asked to execute all the new work in ways which would maintain the qualities of the original design. Based on this request, all aspects of the design process were guided by research into Lundie’s body of work. Detailing and material selection were especially important in supporting the integrity of the original design and were determined by investigations into existing conditions and available documentation of this and several other Lundie houses. This project was designed originally as Kampa/Danks Studio in 2003. Subsequent additions and remodels were done in 2010 and 2012 by Kampa Studio.
